Triathlon.
Picked up triathlon training in 2025 — swim, bike, run. Working towards my first sprint distance event.
Triathlon was the natural next step after getting serious about fitness. I wanted a goal that was measurable, challenging across multiple disciplines, and impossible to fake your way through.
Swim, bike, run. Three sports that individually require real skill — combined into one continuous event that demands not just physical fitness but strategic thinking about pacing, transitions, and energy management.
I started structured triathlon training in 2025. Swimming was the steepest learning curve — technique matters enormously in water in a way it simply doesn't on land. Cycling taught me about power output and drafting. Running, which I was already doing, became about running on tired legs — a completely different skill.
My first goal is a sprint distance event: 750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run. It's not an Ironman, but it's the right place to start. Every serious triathlete has a first race.
The sport suits something in my personality — it rewards preparation, consistency, and composure under discomfort.
