As part of my lifelong endeavour to grow into a more exceptional and impactful leader, I felt it was important to seek honest feedback from those around me — from the individuals I have had the privilege of supporting and guiding in whatever way I could.
I reached out to them with a simple request of sharing a short excerpt about how I’ve made a positive impact on their life. I also made it clear that I only wanted them to write something if they genuinely felt that I really helped them become a better version of themselves.
This wasn’t just about seeking praise, but about gaining true insight into the ways my presence or actions may have influenced others. Understanding the real impact I’ve had will undoubtedly help me to grow with purpose, humility as well as gaining insight to my shortcomings as a leader.
